"Airplane Food"

I dedicate this post to the food served by various airlines on the way to different destinations. I'll try to update this post with new iPhone photos and comments as often as I can.

And so, to have a meal on board is a very nice tradition, not only because traveling can make you tortuously hungry, but also it kills a little time.

I would describe myself as a very hungry traveler. Traveling awakens a furious appetite inside of me. I always wonder what I will eat on the plane, being a little tired, wearing seat belts, but feeling happy because there is a new journey or return home ahead and checking in, control-inspection is over ... I'm in heaven...  and I'm all in anticipation... food, we'll soon be fed! What is so tasty today?

But more often than not I get disappointed...

Airline: Finnair 

Route: Helsinki - New York

Length of flight: 11 hours

Class: Economy

Helsnki-New York is a very long flight so we were fed twice. At the beginning of our flight Finnair offered us a hot meal. You basically could choose between risotto or rice with chicken. I chose risotto and I regret my choice. The risotto was really nasty... too much of cheese, too much of salt... But at least it has a taste of mushrooms. With risotto I also received a good piece of white bread, melted cheese, cabbage salad, butter, four crackers, cake and you could choose any drink (alcohlic or non-alchoholic). Orange juice was ok.

One hour before landing we had another little meal - sandwich with cheese and fresh cucamber. With a cup of tea or coffee I would have consumed it if I was really hungry. Fortunately, I wasn't hungry at all.

Airline: American Airlines

Route: New York - San Francisco

Length of flight: 6 hours

Class: Economy

American Airlines thinks that people don't need to eat on a 6 hour flight unless, of course, you have additional money to pay. I didn't want to play this game.

Airline: Aeroflot Russian Airlines

Route: Donetsk - Moscow

Length of flight: 2 hours

Class: Economy

Aeroflot Russian Airlines must really enjoy scaring people with breakfast food.  Little "russian burger" with unknown sosage plus apple juice created a question in my mind "To die or not to die?".  The spoon and the fork confused me so much.

Airline: Aeroflot Russian Airlines

Route: Moscow - Riga

Length of flight: 2 hours

Class: Economy

Aeroflot Russian Airlines also offers a very creepy lunch. It basically looks the same as breakfast (see above), only the sandwich is much bigger with suspicious fish pate of some kind. The bread was cold and stale, hard. And no idea what is it with Russians and Rich's Apple Juice?! I guess one of Putin's friends must own an apple orchard or two!
